??? UVA men win

There is another post-season tourney other than the dance and the NIT? I have never heard of this.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Sean Singletary scored six points in the waning seconds to give Virginia an 80-76 victory over Old Dominion in the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Invitational on Monday.

A 3-pointer by Singletary with six seconds left tied the score at 75-75. Singletary then hit a layup and hit a free throw after a steal with four seconds left to give Virginia the lead for good at 78-75.

Old Dominion (18-16) had a chance to come back with three seconds left after Jonathan Adams made a free throw to cut Virginia's lead to 78-76. But Adams turned the ball over and Ben Finney fouled Virginia's Calvin Baker. Baker hit two free throws to seal the win.

Singletary finished with 22 points. Mamadi Diane had 14 points for Virginia and Jamil Tucker scored 11.

Brian Henderson led Old Dominion with 26 points.

Virginia battled back from a 37-29 halftime deficit.

Virginia (17-15) will face the winner of Monday night's game between Valparaiso and Houston in the semifinals.

College Basketball Invitational??? I thought it was called the Can't Buy an Invite tournament.

Again: Never heard of that tourney (that's too many-reward for SDBing)

The CBI was created this year. Sixteen team field I think. Higher seeds host game. Finals are a best of three series.

Lady Cavs are the 4 seed playing at 5 seed ODU..gotta love the NCAA
